Congratulations to Craig Painter, SCT Engineering Apprentice who has been awarded the Electrical / Electronic Apprentice of the Year award at the Southampton Engineering Training Association’s (SETA) annual awards. Craig received his award from F1 Honda Class power boat champion Shelley Jory.
Craig and fellow apprentice Stephen Sait have now both completed their first year with SETA and are now settled into ‘on the job’ training within SCT’s Engineering Workshops. They will continue studying for their Electrical / Electronic and Mechanical National Certificates throughout their apprenticeships.
Talking about SCT’s apprenticeship scheme, Russ Broughton, 206 Workshop Manager, SCT, said:
“I would like to congratulate Craig on achieving this award first of all. We invest a lot of time and resources into the apprenticeship scheme here at SCT, so it is particularly rewarding for one of our apprentices to receive this award. I’m sure both Craig and Stephen will progress well within the company as many apprentices have done before them.”
Since 1995, SCT has taken on two engineering apprentices every year. Each apprentice spends a year in the classrooms and workshops at SETA and then spends the following three years learning ‘on the job’ in the SCT Engineering Workshops.
