In preparation for the traditional pre-Christmas peak, SCT has increased the number of vehicle booking slots available to hauliers from 120 bookings per hour to 130 bookings per hour.

The increase in slots has been in place since 1900 hours on Sunday 10 September 2006 and during this time the number of vehicles being serviced has reached over 2,000 lorries in a 24 period, breaking records on many occasions, with vehicle turnaround times on average remaining below 50 minutes.  VBS booking patterns will continue to be monitored and once seasonal demand reduces, the number of bookings will revert back to 120 bookings per hour.
