On 23 September 2006, SCT handled its millionth TEU for the year. Nine hundred and ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine TEUs were contributed by all our customers up until that moment during Saturday. Coincidentally all our customers were represented on the quay that day with CMA CGM, Grand Alliance, Maersk Line and New World Alliance vessels all at various stages in their discharging and loading operations.
Commenting on the news, Patrick Walters, Managing Director, SCT, said:
“We are pleased to see the terminal hit the one million mark earlier this year than in previous years. The efficiency improvements that have been made to the terminal in the last 18 months, the consistent hard work of all our employees as well as the new services now in operation have all contributed to us hitting this figure earlier.”Related Articles
