SCT has been singled out from a long-list of European container terminals and honoured with the “Best Improved Terminal” award from liner shipping company APL. The award was announced on a visit from Peter Hall, Managing Director UK and Ireland.
APL has one ship calling per week on the Far East Europe service (“CEX service”) and through its membership of The New World Alliance also has slots on the MOL vessels which call weekly on their “JEX” service.
APL compared crane productivity in 2005 with their statistics in 2004 and ranked us the Best Improved Terminal based on a 35% improvement on JEX and 21% improvement on CEX.
“The award is a clear endorsement of the accomplishments of the staff at SCT over the last 15 months. All at SCT should be proud of the part they have played in delivering this improvement. We are all inter-dependent on each other for delivering customer service whether driving machinery, maintaining equipment, controlling operations, planning vessels or the stack, managing, supervising, administering. The award is to all of us,” said Patrick Walters, Managing Director of SCT.
He continued “I remain confident that continuing the improving trend will lead to bigger and greater things for SCT. “Related Articles
