“The sky is not the limit, there is no limit” words that reflect the vision of DP World, which is to excel in operations, sales and customer service to their clients and to enhance the position of the local community and country in which they operate as gateways for global trade.

So SCT enters a new era led by its majority shareholder, DP World, as part of an expanded network of global operations covering five continents, fifty-one container terminals in thirty countries with capacity to handle 50m TEU per year.

DP World and Dubai Ports Authority, DPA, are the divisions of Dubai Ports, which started at the home Ports of Rashid and Jebel  Ali in the Emirate of Dubai, and expanded into global operations in Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, India and Romania between 1999 and 2003.   With the strategic acquisitions of CSX World Terminals in 2005 and P&O Ports in 2006, and further acquisitions in Korea, India and Turkey, DP World is a leading world terminal operator.

The integration process of P&O Ports into DP World is well underway with its goal to allow both organisations to grow together to create a unified management for both businesses by the fourth quarter of this year.  The joint strengths and expertise within the two organisations will be tapped to create an integrated business with ten regions reporting back to Dubai.  Each region will focus on core commitments which are to people, customers, quality and global growth.
